Mandelbaum Salsburg’s Veterinary Practice Group counsels their veterinary clients on the many business and legal challenges that confront today’s
veterinarians such as practice transitions, partnership agreements, leases, associate agreements, purchase agreements,  management services organizations and other business, personal and estate matters.

Our group is chaired by Peter Tanella, a partner in our firm who is a member of the Veterinary Resource Alliance, Vet Partners and the American Veterinary Medical Law Association. The Veterinary Practice Group brings an extensive array of legal experience to the veterinary community.

The Veterinary Practice Group’s services include assisting veterinary practice owners in forming efficient business entities, such as corporations, limited liability companies and professional limited liability companies. We also prepare, review and negotiate business transaction documents such as offer letters, letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding and term sheets.

During formation of veterinary partnerships we can facilitate structuring, negotiating, documenting and implementing all aspects, including: associate buy-ins and options; specialty, multi-specialty and general practice governance and management partnership agreements; and partner retirement and withdrawals.

In business transactions, we expedite purchases and sales; mergers; spin-offs; and leases of general, specialty or multi-specialty veterinary practices; and all aspects of financing arrangements.

We also offer assistance with all veterinary practice employment law issues, including employee handbooks; resolving employee/employer disputes; retention agreements; preparing and reviewing employment, residency and independent contractor agreements; and non-solicitation, confidentiality and other restrictive covenants, clauses and related provisions. We advise and guide our veterinary clients on how to properly hire, terminate and manage employees.
