Lauren X. Topelsohn

Lauren X. Topelsohn is a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Labor and Employment, and Privacy, Cybersecurity & Information Management practice groups.

Lauren’s diverse legal experience encompasses both complex, commercial litigation, and business counseling of closely held companies. She has represented a wide array of clients including manufacturers and retailers, Internet commerce and technology businesses, service provides, publishers, writers, photographers, designers and professional companies.

Lauren regularly litigates actions involving business and contract disputes, employment and labor matters, copyright and trademark issues, e-commerce, hospitality law, First Amendment and publishing law, fraud, unfair competition and personal injury. In addition to her trial and appellate work, Lauren has represented clients in arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and other ADR forums.

Lauren’s extensive transactional experience includes negotiating and drafting intellectual property licenses, employment and severance agreements, shareholder and operating agreements, business merger, acquisition and separation agreements, publishing agreements, EULA’s, NDA’s, and restrictive covenants.  Her litigation background enhances her transactional skills, enabling her to identify and avoid potential issues at the negotiation stage.

Lauren was formerly General Counsel and Chief Operations Officer of the largest, privately-held litigation-technology, services company in the Tri-State area.  Her hands-on, business experience enables her to provide strategic counsel that balances legal rights with real-world practicalities and risk management concerns.
